Tibetan carpet manufacturer Veedon Fleece will be showing several new pashmina and silk carpets at 100% Design, an exhibition of contemporary rugs, furniture, lighting and textiles, from September 27 through 30 at 2 Earls Court in London. A continuation of the company's successful series of patterns based on shells, the contemporary Tibetan carpets have enticing names: Sunkiss, Thundercloud (left), White Lightening and Hohokam. www.veedonfleece.demon.co.uk

In his first book, The Good Home (HBI, $50), architect Dennis Wedlick, whose work has been widely published, suggests that a house needs "soul," and he clearly lays out and illustrates a reasonable number of interior and exterior design techniques in the book's 238 pages, which include 250 color pictures and 75 black-and-white sketches. His goal: to give the future homebuilder ideas and the language to communicate those concepts to an architect or contractor.
